When the movie "Invincible" opens on Friday, August 25, AFL fans will see approximately 50 Arena Football players in theaters nationwide.  The movie, which is based on the NFL career of Vince Papale of the Philadelphia Eagles (1976-78), starts Mark Wahlberg (as Papale) and Greg Kinnear (as Dick Vermeil).

Many AFL players have participated in previous football films (The Longest Yard, The Waterboy, Any Given Sunday) as extras, teammates or the stars’ body-doubles. This film is no different as current Orlando Predators’ WR/LB Clif Dell and former Predators OS Travis McGriff play Wahlberg’s body-double during the on-field action sequences.

Tampa Bay Storm QB Pat O'Hara devotes his offseason working for ReelSports, a company based in South Carolina that recruits athletes, provides choreography and consulting services on sports movies. O’Hara has played an integral role in placing AFL players in many football-related movies.

“Invincible” tells the unlikely story of a down-on-his luck teacher and part-time bartender, Papale, who earned a roster spot on the Philadelphia Eagles after attending an open tryout.
