Director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan's Indian Film Lahore, which was screened at several international film festivals is all set to create history.

The movie will be the first ever Indian film to have its remake in Hollywood. A production house, which has produced movies like Gerard Butler starrer 300 and Robert De Niro and Drew Barrymore starrer Everybody's Fine, have approached Chauhan to acquire the right for a remake of the film. Sanjay himself might go on to direct the film with a new cast from Hollywood that may include some big names.

"Yes it is true that we have been approached by Scott Carr. It is an honour for me and my film. Even in the original film, I had a lots of international crew like Wayne Sharpe who did the background score, Tony Leung, our action director, international vocalist Lisbeth Scott who sung for the film, and Rob Miller, who served as our sports consultant and must say they added the authenticity that my film needed. I have been requested to sell all the rights for remake of the film and yes, there might be a possibility of me directing it, which will a big challenge and responsibility for me," says Sanjay.

Indian actors have worked in Hollywood and vice versa and many Hollywood films have been remade by Bollywood, but Sanjay feels it is a big achievement for the Indian industry that one of our films will be borrowed by the west. The director however is firm that he would hand over the rights only on condition that "my script is not tampered with. I know that my script is original and I don't think it requires any changes as it is a universal subject."
