On Monday morning, an unexpected figure was training in Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium — Farhan Akhtar.
The filmmaker-actor, who is in the Capital to shoot for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, a biopic on athlete Milkha Singh, started shooting at the stadium at 8am, after a long workout. In the scene being shot, Akhtar was seen racing with a few foreigners cast by ReelSports, who were essaying the role of international athletes.
Dressed in a white vest with ‘India’ and number 171 written on it, along with a pair of shorts, the 38-year-old looked every bit the real Milkha.
The area was cordoned off and heavy security was in place to prevent anyone from getting close to the team or clicking Akhtar in his getup.
The film, being helmed by filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, was earlier shot near Patiala in Punjab. The team has a 40-day schedule in Delhi and is expected to shoot in various parts of the Capital. The film also stars actor Sonam Kapoor, who is expected to join the shoot soon.
